What a neat trip! Love hearing how you got around and the takeaways for us here in the US.

I have ended a voyage of my own and am now getting settled in a new city. Currently I'm in suburbia and working on getting a drivers license in a new state to increase my mobility since my California license expired. My choices and control over what my day looks like are so impacted by being car-less in a car culture!

Welcome back from your voyage! And yeah, it's amazing how few mobility options most American communities have. Lots of housing and transportation policies are in place that make the suburbs areas of few choices. As economics shift, with raising gas prices and infrastructure maintenance costs catching up on sprawling communities, there will be lots and lots of opportunities to reimagine some suburban communities to be places with more options.
