Every day is a good day to politically organize, but some time periods the window of opportunity is a lot wider than usual. Right now, your window of opportunity for political organizing is wide open.
The year is winding down, and in most communities the legislative session and governments' budgeting processes have wrapped up this year’s work. Now they are taking a little break before officially starting on next year’s work. However, as an advocate, you don’t have to wait for the official process to start, you can advocate now.
This period of “rest” is an excellent time for you to set the stage for success in 2024. Now is the time for exploratory talks with potential coalition partners and elected officials to build relationships. Now is the time to float ideas for policies to collaborate on next year and get people thinking. Now is the time to line up community support for a large and eye-catching demand that sets the tone of the coming budget and legislative process. Now is the time to plant seeds.
This doesn’t happen in spite of your holiday plans, this happens along with your plans. And when you do it right, your holiday plans can make this work a lot easier.
To help folks take advantage of this moment, I'm offering a special December Deal: 25% off all sessions in December or book a session at full price and I'll give a 50% discount to a person you nominate! Your session can be 1-on-1 or you can bring up to 5 additional people in with you. Book here
Help set the stage for successful state-wide advocacy work when you book a session for yourself and give a deep discount session to an ally. The more transit or bike activists there are organizing in communities across your state, the better chance you'll have at winning bigger policy & funding shifts at the state level.
Want help to devise a strategy and build the skills in your campaign for better transit and or safer streets? I’m here to help!
